Age: 28

Gender/Sex: Cis-female

Appearance: Ingrid is an unusually tall woman, standing at 5’11”, and sturdily built at 170 lbs.—most of that lean, solid muscle born from years of hard labor and physical training. She carries herself like a fighter, straight-backed and solid in her stance, and her gait is purposeful, even slightly masculine. This is not to say that she necessarily appears unfeminine, though, as she has decidedly womanly curves and a pretty face.

She has long, wavy blonde hair that she often will wear loose, or else fastened back in simple styles. Her skin is very fair, and much more prone to sunburn than tanning. Her eyes are a light shade of blue, and many would describe them as being soulful, or even sad much of the time. When not interacting with other people, her expression tends to default to one of wistfulness or preoccupation, though her slightly cleft chin does have something of a stubborn set to it. She has earned her share of scars and calluses through long years of hard work, mostly concentrated on her hands (and she is right-handed), arms, feet and legs, but most are faded and nothing is particularly distinctive.

Ingrid usually does not concern herself a great deal with how she looks, but she does try to be diligent about keeping herself, along with her clothing and gear, clean and in good condition. Her manner of dress is generally dictated by whatever is most practical for the weather and the task at hand. Although Ingrid’s sense of feminine decorum lends her wardrobe to primarily simple homespun dresses (frequently embroidered with the Flaming Sword of Andraste, as a mark of her templar status), she has no qualms about donning men’s clothing when skirts would otherwise be too cumbersome, and she will dress in armor if she expects she’ll have to fight. Aside from her late husband’s Joining pendant that she wears around her neck as a remembrance (usually tucked underneath her clothing), Ingrid typically eschews jewelry, only bringing out the few pieces she owns (a dainty circlet she first wore at her wedding and a small necklace that once belonged to her mother) for special occasions.

She speaks with a distinct Anders accent, and her Ferelden is not the best, but her words are usually clear enough to understand and spoken at a measured pace. She has been known to periodically mumble to herself—usually recitations from the Chant of Light—while working on a task.

PB is Miranda Otto.

History: Ingrid was born to a poor family on a small farm a few miles outside Weisshaupt in the Anderfels, the eldest of 4 children. Her mother died when she was ten, leaving her to manage the household. At 15, she was married to a Grey Warden recruit (who did survive the Joining just before their marriage) from a wealthy family as part of an arrangement to relieve her family's debts. She didn't like being a bored housewife, and started borrowing templars to spar with at a local chantry. The Revered Mother noticed her talent and suggested she submit herself for training, which she did at age 17 with her husband's blessing. She completed training and took her vows at age 24.

Two years later, she became pregnant with her first child, but contracted a fever in the fourth month and became very ill. She survived, but lost the baby, and during her sickness, her husband was killed in an accident during a scouting mission. The devastated Ingrid devoted herself to the Chantry as best she could, but struggled with depression. Thinking a change of scenery would help, her commanding officer transferred her to Kinloch Hold in Ferelden. Not long after her arrival, the tower collapsed and Ingrid (not in said tower at the time) was among the few survivors. After reporting to Denerim, she was assigned to Amaranthine to investigate and observe apostate mages being harbored by the Grey Wardens. Not long afterward, at the behest of the local Revered Mother, she followed a group of Wardens to Val Royeaux to look into new policies and practices there and their effect on both the Wardens and the mages.

Personality: Ingrid is a serious, sometimes dolorous (she still struggles with depression, some days more than others), pious woman of the Andrastian faith, though she does not like to issue judgment, which is the Maker's job, or proselytize as that's the job of the clerics, not the templars. She is also pragmatic, practical and resourceful, and will do what she can to find new uses for things before throwing them out. She is very industrious and always needs to have something to keep her busy or she'll go stir-crazy. She prefers to focus on results rather than social dynamics, so if she must work with someone she doesn't like, she'll bite her tongue and just concern herself with getting things done. She is wary of magic and believes it needs to be carefully monitored, but does recognize it has a place and is useful for many things. She is steadfastly loyal to her superiors, the Chantry and those who have earned her respect, but she will speak up if she disagrees with something asked of her (though she will most likely carry out the request regardless). She is clever, but not inquisitive, and prefers to reason things out for herself than research what some scholar has to say on a given subject and is not a fan of reading much except for the Chant of Light.

Abilities: Ingrid is a sword and shield warrior with a Defender talent and a Templar specialization.

Weapon and Shield Ability: Experts in this style are still on their feet after punishment that would kill their allies. They use their shield to protect themselves and stagger their enemies.
- Shield Wall - The warriors stand firm and blocks incoming attacks at the cost of stamina. Each block adds to their guard. She moves much more slowly while sustaining this ability.
- Chevalier's Step - When she uses Shield Wall, her movement is not slowed as much. She can also protect nearby allies by giving them improved armor.
- Payback Strike - She recovers from any disabled condition (e.g. staggered, stunned, frozen) and lashes out with a great blow against nearby enemies. If she's recently taken damage, she hits that much harder and staggers her foes.
- Sweet Revenge - She does more damage with Payback Strike, and if she's recently taken damage, she also stuns taunted enemies.
- Bear Mauls the Wolves - Using techniques originally perfected by chevaliers, she can't be flanked by enemies, and she's less likely to be staggered when hit from the front.
- Warrior's Resolve - She fights all the harder when she's hurting, gaining stamina when she loses health.
- Turn the Bolt - Her expertise with the shield protects her against ranged attacks from the front.
- Shield Bash - Many foes think a shield is just for defense. She corrects that mistake with a brutal slam that does bonus damage to an enemy's guard.
- Ring the Bell - She now lunges forward with Shield Bash, and does even greater damage to an enemy's guard.
- Great Lunge - The farther she lunges before striking her target, the more damage she does to them.
- Lunge and Slash - She lunges forward, then spins with a slashing strike if her first blow connects. She can use this attack to close with opponents.

Defender Talent: Defenders specialize in survivability, taking everything the enemy throws at them and walking away unscathed.
- Stonewall - The warrior braces for impact, shrugging off damage for a brief moment and pushing back against any foe who attacks.
- Elemental Aegis - The secret to warding off the elements is to rely on your armor, keeping it between you and the blast. The warrior has learned this lesson well, and can anticipate magical attacks.
- Turn the Blade - While many warriors choose to endure their foes' hits, some prefer to deflect the damage instead. Any blow she can see, she can turn aside. All damage from the front is reduced.
- Resilience - Warriors trained in resilience have learned not to flinch from wounds, making it almost impossible to break their attacks, push them backwards, or distract them with elemental effects like mild immolation. The warrior will only be interrupted by attacks that deal so much force as to knock the warrior completely down or that cause lengthy elemental effects.
- Adamant - The warrior's deep knowledge of the defensive arts grants a permanent resilience against damage of all types.
- Resolute - The warrior has faced more mages in battle than most denizens of Thedas even see in a lifetime. This experience has built a mental fortitude that any templar would envy.

Templar Specialization: It takes incredible focus to wield magic, but even greater will to withstand it. The Templars originated in the Chantry with the establishment of the order, and their mandate remains the restriction and containment of mages. But the abilities Templars command are not divine nor magical; they are the product of intense training and rigorous devotions. These are achievable by any warrior, although the discipline required may seem just as much a calling. Templars don’t just endure magic, they deny it, and deny others the use of it. At the height of ability, a Templar simply shrugs off most harmful effects, and can completely suppress a mage’s ability to cast. They are warriors of singular focus, and none can match their dedication or effectiveness at taming those who would abuse the magical energies of the Fade. These unrelenting warriors specialize in fighting mages and demons. No enemy's magic can withstand them, and they inspire and protect their allies with their righteous power. Lyrium enhances these abilities, but is not required to use them. A templar who has experienced lyrium withdrawal or never been addicted can still perform these abilities, but with reduced efficacy.
- Cleanse/Spell Purge - Through faith and will, the templar purges and dispels the area of hostile magic, removing hostile magical effects from the party and disabling sustained magical abilities from enemies across an area of the battlefield.
- Spell Shatter - Cleanse/Spell Purge deals massive area damage at 600% weapon damage when dispelling barriers and other beneficial effects on enemies.
- Silence - The templar surrounds a foe in negative energy, preventing the enemy from activating abilities for a short time.
- Holy Smite - The templar strikes out with condemning fire, inflicting spirit damage on nearby enemies.
- Righteous Strike - The templar's weapon is instilled with righteous energy. Each strike has a chance to prevent the enemy from activating abilities for a short time.
- Annulment - The lyrium infusing the templar's blood further protects the templar from the Fade's influence. The templar gains resistance to all forms of hostile magic.
- Blessed Blades - She rally's all her nearby allies to fight with greater strength, especially when facing demons.
- Lights in the Shadow - Attacking enemies while the templar is affected by Blessed Blades reduces the cooldown times of Cleanse/Spell Purge and Wrath of Heaven.
- Champions of the Just - The templar's righteous fervor inspires the entire party to fight harder against demons.
- Maker's Will - The party's attacks have a chance to weaken their targets.
- Rally - The templar inspires her allies to fight harder. Her party's guard, stamina, and mana build over time and all party members gain damage resistance against incoming attacks. This ability consumes and is powered by focus.
- There is No Darkness - The templar's faith is her protection against the elements, and not for her alone. The entire party gains increased resistance to fire, ice, electric, and spirit damage.
- Wrath of Heaven - The templar summons a blinding pillar of light that stuns nearby enemies and damages demons.
- Embrace the Light - Wrath of Heaven does 300% more damage to demons and leaves enemies stunned 2 seconds longer.
- The Last Sacrifice - Even if the templar should fall, she gives her allies strength to fight in harder in her name.

-She is skilled in farming and domestic chores, e.g. sowing and harvesting, animal husbandry, grinding grain with rocks, carding, spinning, weaving and dyeing the wool, making butter and cheese, butchering meat, tanning hides, making tallow candles, sewing clothes, and repairing and patching anything that wears out or breaks down back into serviceable condition.
